Media Relations Specialist
- Cultivates and maintains relationships and regular communication with external editors, reporters, print, digital, TV hosts and producers, podcasts, influencers, and radio contacts; responding to agency-related questions and inquiries and obtaining and distributing appropriate materials to place CSDE stories in local and national media outlets.
- Assesses and reports news coverage, understands the media landscape and identifies potential opportunities and risks. Shares insights with managers and develops regular trends reports
- Research and update media lists, manage media databases, and coordinate media outreach.
- Executes basic functions of social strategy, which include: Curation of social, distribution of articles, podcasts, and video to relevant platforms on an ongoing basis
- Assist in gathering insights and learnings through ongoing social testing and tracking, analyzing what’s working and what’s not to enable us to continually develop and improve our output.
- Demonstrated Organic Content Strategy for platforms X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn & Facebook in business/professional applications.
- Basic photo and video editing skills.
- Baseline knowledge of data analytics in order to understand and track KPIs.
- Assist in initial creating/writing of briefing sheets, talking points, press releases on a regular basis and coordinate with locations and offices on details for events.
- Conceptualize, develop, and execute paid media strategies that are consistent with brand standards and align with marketing goals and objectives across the organization’s product portfolio.
- Conduct audience research and analysis to identify target demographics and media habits. Create and implement strategy based on findings.
- Familiarity with SiteCore, Adobe CC, YouTube, Microsoft 360, Campaign Monitor or similar newsletter management software.
